About the 2025 National Postdoctoral Conference for ECRs

The conference aims to celebrate, unite, and empower postdoctoral researchers from across the UK, with a strong focus on SHAPE disciplines while actively engaging participants from STEM fields. It provides a vibrant platform to explore the postdoc journey, foster interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaborations, and identify shared challenges and opportunities for ECRs across these diverse disciplines.

The event emphasised building synergies between SHAPE and STEM, highlighting opportunities for collaboration and guidance on navigating career pathways in both fields. Key topics included research culture, interdisciplinary partnerships, career development, leadership, publishing, careers beyond academia, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and the evolving role of AI in research.
