TheCultureLab – Mixer and Taster @ Cam (2 sessions)
Academia often prioritises intellectual performance, metrics, and comparison - and in doing so, our creativity can quietly slip into the shadows. What if part of shifting academic culture is bringing our creative "self" back into the light?
The CultureLab Workshop: Creativity and Self-Expression in Academia explores exactly that. Together, we will:
- Recognise creative impulses in ourselves and others

After three years of establishing our research culture programme at #UniversityofCambridge we are going bigger! Between late April and mid May 2026 we are running a programme of events to highlight the fantastic people and positive practice at the university. 🏫 On April 29th we will kick off with our community event at West Hub - showcasing our Research England #EnhancingResearchCulture projects. Following a successful event last year, we’ll follow a similar ‘poster session and networking’ format, connecting those with interests in community building, widening participation, career pathways, leadership, research support and more. 📅 In the first few weeks of May we’ll be promoting events with a focus on the people, environment and culture at Cambridge - if you have an event you’d like included you can visit the Research Culture Sharepoint or email [email protected] to chat about your event. Look out for a calendar of events, published in early March. 🎆On May 13th we’re holding the #ResearchCultureCelebration - an opportunity to nominate a peer, mentor or mentee for exceptional collegiality, leadership or research practice. Nominees can be any staff member, PhD or postdoc. Nominees will attend our celebration event at Kettle’s Yard. For more information on all of these activities, you can go to our Sharepoint via the link below (follow the sidebar link to ‘research culture Sharepoint site’). https://lnkd.in/eeQuaKnF #UniversityofCambridge #ResearchCulture
